When We Get Home is a three-part post-natal care video that features education on Infant Care, Successful Breastfeeding, and Postpartum Depression. This video provides an English, Spanish, and Sign Language option. Each year hundreds of thousands of babies are born. In most cases, women are sent home from the hospital after giving birth without having a true understanding of what is actually ahead of them. Most new moms are completely clueless on proper infant care. Considering all of the things that can go wrong, families should have better and easier resources on how to take care of newborns. This lack of knowledge can lead into Postpartum Depression (PPD). Statistics show that 80% of women develop the baby blues after giving birth and 10-20% develops PPD. Frequently, PPD is unrecognized by the mother and family members. In some cases, the results have been devastating. It is important that moms and family members are educated on PPD and how it can be treated. Another area that is overlooked is breastfeeding. Moms need more education on breastfeeding, which will encourage more women to breastfeed. There are excellent benefits for both the mother and baby from breastfeeding, which should be broadcasted. Most parents don t have time to read pamphlets or books on these topics. This video will be the prefect solution to this problem. The video will allow parents to learn while feeding their baby, folding clothes, rocking the baby to sleep, etc.
