• Kyle: Joe Lia | bio

  Joe graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in Film and Television Production. In 2003, he made his feature acting debut playing the lead character, India in Everett Lewis’ “FAQS”. Subsequently, Joe starred in the feature film “Shamelove” (2006) and “The Shadows” (2007). Joe has perused a career on the other side of the camera as well. He acted as a writer and editor on “Shamelove” and is currently in post-production on his feature directorial debut, “Sweet Thing”.

• Jeff: Kristian Capalik | bio

  Kristian began his full time acting career in 2002. Acting for both stage and screen he played in "Liberation" (2004), directed by Rude Guerilla. Kristian has been seen on television in shows such as NBC’s Medical Investigation. Recently, he was honored at the LA Indies Film Festival with an "Outstanding Indie Debut Performance" for his lead role in the independent feature "Shamelove" (2006). He continues to study acting under the tutelage of Stan Roth in Hollywood and is currently staring in his second feature "Afterthought" (2006).

• Lisa: Natalie Avital | bio

  Natalie graduated from UCLA with a degree in Theater and jumped right into acting for stage and film. She has stared in theatre productions of “The Big Slam” (2003), and the award winning play “Suburbia” (2004) as well as features such as “Shallow Ground” (2004) and “Attack of the Sabretooth”. In 2005 she won “Best Actress” at the N.Y. Midnight Movie Madness Festival for the film “Honor Among Thieves”. For her role as Lisa in the feature “Shamelove” she won the “Best Supporting Actress” award at the 2006 L.A. Indies Film Festival. She currently studies with Tom Irwin at Steppenwolf West.

• Ramon: Leonard Wu | bio

  Leonard has been a fixture in the local theater scene in Los Angeles appearing in such critically acclaimed plays as Long Bridge Over Deep Waters (Cornerstone), Aziatik Nation (Lodestone) and Common Bonds (Secret Rose). He has guest starred on Veronica Mars, and performed in indie films such as Fright Club, Raw Footage, Pretty Dead Girl, Love is the Drug and Shamelove. He is currently shooting the film Finishing the Game with director Justin Lin (Better Luck Tomorrow, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift), as well as a project in New York entitled Horizon.

• John: Justin Meloni | bio

  Justin received a degree in Theatre from Boston University and then moved to Los Angeles to pursue his acting career. Justin has appeared as a day player in TV shows such as Cold Case, The Office and CSI:NY. He has also appeared in features such as FAQ’s and Shamelove.

• Mason: David Love | bio

  David Love started his acting career with a bang in the stage production, The House of Yes, which earned him rave reviews. He went on to play the voice of young Marty in the film adaptation of the play, directed by Mark Waters. David has continued acting in dozens of films as well as performing sketch comedy at The Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in Los Angeles.

• Director: Matt McUsic | bio

  Matt McUsic graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Southern California with a degree in Film and Television Production. Matt first received recognition with his short film “The Eulogist” – Winner of the OK Indies Film Festival (2000) and official nominee of the 2001 Damah Film Festival. He went on to direct the USC Award Winning short film “Revere” where he met fellow filmmakers Joe Lia, Stefan Karrer and Jean Christophe Chamboredon. “Shamelove” marks an exciting feature directorial debut for Matt McUsic. With the film’s premiere at the 2006 L.A. Indies Film Festival, “Shamelove” swept the awards – Winning Jury Selection for Best Feature, Best Supporting Actress (Natalie Avital), Best Debut Performance (Kristian Capalik), as well as garnering nominations in Best Actor and Best Director categories. “Shamelove” is looking forward to future success in the festival circuit including three other international festivals to which the film has been invited. Matt is currently in pre-production on his second feature titled “Plutonium”.

• Producer: Jean Christophe Chamboredon | bio

  Jean-Christophe was born in France and moved to the United States to begin a career in the film industry. Upon graduating from the University of Southern California School of Cinema, Jean-Christope teamed up with Matt McUsic and together they have made a number of short film projects as well as music videos. Jean-Christophe has also directed music videos for artists such as John Arnold, Cyril Morin and just finished directing the music video for the Academy Award winning film “Tsotsi” (2005). In addition to film production Jean-Christophe has produced a number of records for Milan Records.

• Producer: Stefan Karrer | bio

  Born in Switzerland, Stefan produced a number or award-winning short films in his native country including winning the UNICA silver medal. In 2000 Stefan moved to Los Angeles hone his skills as a producer. He graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in Cinema and Business. Stefan acquired experience as a producer by working alongside mentors Sam Dickerman (SVP at Sony Picture Entertainment), Bernie Morris (former President of Trigerstreet) and Matthew Waldman (Producer at Media 8 Entertainment). In 2005 Swiss National Television aired a 60-minute special on Stefan's life in Los Angeles alongside other Swiss working in Hollywood such as Marc Forster.

• Composer: Cyril Morin | bio

  Cyril attended the National Music Academy in France when he was very young. He pursued a career in music performance and in 1993 began a brilliant foray into composing for television and cinema. In the last few years he has primarily been composing for features, and has earned numerous awards and nominations for his soundtracks. In 2004 he won the Best Original Soundtrack Award both at Auxerre and Cannes. In 2005 he was nominated as Composer Revelation of the Year by the World Soundtrack Academy for the film “The Syrian Bride”. His latest project is the film “Valley of Flowers” for director Pan Nalin.

• Director of Photography: Andrew P. Waruszewski | bio

  Andrew graduated at the top of his class from the University of Southern California with a degree in Film and Television Production, which secured him mentorships with renowned cinematographer Paul Cameron, Academy Award nominated cinematographer Dante Spinotti (ASC), and Academy Award winning cinematographer Dion Beebe (ASC). Making his feature film debut with “Shamelove” Andrew has photographed a number of award winning short films including Y Nada Mas, Pretty Dead Flowers and Band Camp, which is currently airing on the IFC Channel. Andrew just wrapped shooting his second feature J’OK-EL.

• Production Designer: Bryan Louie | bio

  Bryan Louie graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in Film and Television Production. He was the production designer of the film award winning short film, “Xiou Gwai Lo” (2002) directed by John Chu and has also served as script supervisor on “Gamers”(2003) and “Parking Structure No.3” (2003). Bryan directed the USC short film “The Kabuki Joint” in 2003 and from 2003 to 2005 Bryan worked on the Warner Brother’s Hit TV show “Gilmore Girls”. He has worked for Radford Studios as well and is currently in pre-production on a script of his own.

• Makeup Artist: Robyn Nakamoto | bio

  Originally from Hawaii, Robyn is currently an Art History major at the University of Southern California. While studying art history and fine art, Robyn became increasingly interested in the role of a makeup artist in Hollywood. After excelling in a number of makeup classes at USC’s Cinema School Robyn took on the role of Key Makeup Artist on the independent feature “Shamelove”.

• Picture Editor: Gabe Barcia-Colombo | bio

  Gabe graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in Film and Television Production. While at USC Gabe edited the award winning short film, “Different” (2004). After graduating Gabe began studies in video art. His film “Dada (A Pseudomentary)” won The March Slamdance Anarchy Film Festival and several of his short video pieces have been screened everywhere from the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles to abandoned seaport warehouses in Brooklyn, NY. Currently, Gabe is in the Masters Program at New York University in Video Studies.

• Gaffer: Andrew Burnop | bio

  Andrew is currently pursuing a Philosophy Degree from the University of Southern California. While at USC he has worked on a number of film productions including Everett Lewis' “FAQs”, where he met “Shamelove” filmmakers Matt McUsic and Joe Lia. When “Shamelove” began production Andrew eagerly jumped on board. He has subsequently worked as a Camera Assistant, Electrician, or Gaffer on a plethora of other feature films – most notably Finale and Joe Lia's directing debut Sweet Thing. In addition to these projects, Andrew recently completed shooting his first feature film as a Director of Photography--a comedy titled Emma Nema, directed by USC grad Evan Payne.
