Over a hundred thousand oil and gas wells have already been drilled from Montana to New Mexico, and plans are under way to drill another hundred thousand. The drilling blitz threatens some of America's last, best wild lands: the Red Desert, Rocky Mountain Front, Roan Plateau, canyon lands & Otero Mesa Westerners on the land for generations illustrate the dramatic changes to the landscape and foment a backlash.
