Synopsis

From the twisted mind of Matt Peters comes Brackish, a tale of one man's selfish attempt to regain the past. Jake loses his fiance Sarah to death and goes into a state of depression. His sister, Tila, and his friends, Chad, Brad, and Beth, try to help him out of it by taking him camping. The five of them decide to camp near a ghost town where Jake and Tila's family is from. The drive there is long, and on the way they meet many of the locals, primarily Collet, resident, Florence and Little Ray, mechanics by trade, and Sheriff Merlock, who keeps the law in those parts. The group is warned that traveling up there may not be safe (it is afterall, a ghost town that has seen many Adirondack winters). After arriving they explore the ghost town and Jake stumbles upon the house of his grandfather. While there, he finds a secret that his grandfather was trying to hide, a secret that could bring his fiance back from the beyond. The price, though, is steep, and payable immediately.

Jake: Dior Aioubov | bio
Dior was born in Tajikistan and has lived in the Czech Republic and the United States. He is currently attending Utica College and will graduate in August 2007. He has dedicated his life to pursuing an acting career and hopes to eventually becoming a film director. In order to achieve this goal, he has played in many theatre productions, TV commercials and films. Dior has met many famous actors in his travels and has been around many Hollywood filming sites.
Tila: Rachel Powers | bio
Rachel, 23, graduated from Syracuse University in May 2006 with a B.F.A. in Drama, and is excited to be making her debut with Mad Angel Films. An aspiring actress, she has appeared in various Newhouse/VPA film productions and Syracuse University drama festivals. She is currently living in Rome, New York after a brief stint in NYC, but hopes to end up in LA when the time is right. Besides acting, Rachel's other interests include traveling and politics.
Chad: Al Amendolare, III | bio
Al Amendolare has been a movie buff his entire life. This is why Mad Angel Films was the perfect place for him to start his career in acting. Al has studied film and drama in the past and looks forward to applying that knowledge and using his talents in this film.
Brad: Josh Campbell | bio
Josh Campbell is 23 years old and lives in Cohoes, NY. He loves the camera and is extremely outgoing without even a hint of shyness. He's had very little experience in acting although he did some backyard wrestling videos when he was younger. He's trying to expand himself in this world and work on some bigger projects. Josh has worked on still shots with the photography Chuck Mossey who works out of Cohoes. He knows that acting will be a promising career for him.
Beth: Catherine Presite | bio
Catherine, 21, is a theatre major and media minor at Stony Brook University. She has been acting for four years and has had numerous lead roles in theatre. She is interning in NYC during the fall and plans on moving to California after she graduates to pursue a career in the film industry. This is her 2nd film and her first debut with Mad Angel Films which she is thrilled to be a part of.
Collet: Vanessa O'Brien | bio
Vanessa is originally from Chicago and now lives in Albany. Her acting experiences include the full feature film entitled One Last Kill, where she played a psychologist named Carrie, and three short films: Vampire Assassin, Dead Residents and A Thief in the Night whose themes revolved around zombies, vampires, and demons. Vanessa's friends kid her about it and ask her if she's trying to be the next Karen Black. She is a regular on a local music video show, The Glenn Slingerland Situation, on Channel 4 in the Albany area. Although acting has always been one of Vanessa's passions, as a career she runs a group home for people with special needs and is an advocate for victims of sexual assault and rape.
Sheriff Merlock: Kevin McDermott | bio
Kevin is 42 years old and grew up in Hell's Kitchen, NYC although he currently resides in Utica. Kevin's acting experience is still very young but he has been involved with community theatre where he was an extra in As Good As It Gets. While living in New York City he would go to many sets of films that were being shot on location. He may not have much acting experience, but he's got great comical wit and timing and is very excited to enter the acting scene through Mad Angel Films.
Sarah: Irene Young | bio
Irene is 17 years old and will be entering her senior year this fall at Johnstown HS. She is an all-around theatre-geek, appearing in shows at many local theatres. She is also a member of a world-championship finalist winter guard performance team. "Brackish" will be Irene's second film and she is looking forward to doing many more.
Florence: Melissa A. Seelman | bio
Melissa is a veteran Mad Angel. Melissa has helped Matt develop his career from the very beginning. She was the star of Vivica and Killers from Deep Space in addition to numerous experimental films. Melissa's ability to portray dark characters with such emotion and depth makes her essential to any of our productions, and Brackish will be no exception.
Little Ray: Adara Wilczak | bio
Adara is currently attending Rochester Institute of Technology, majoring in Graphic Media with a minor in Music. Although her recent acting experience has been limited, she is a member of RIT’s World Music Ensemble, played drums for The Scratch Dirty and The Shameless Breaks, and is also a dj for 89.7 WITR Henrietta. Adara is a big fan of independent filmmaking and is very pleased to be able to help out on the production of Brackish.
Jake's Grandfather: Larry Cicigline | bio
Larry Cicigline, 65, was born and raised in Utica, N.Y. He attended MVCC and graduated from the New York State Municipal Police Academy. He is a retired Senior Detective with 38 years of service with the Utica Police Department. He was an MVCC Utica Police Academy Instructor and headed the Utica Police Criminal Investigation Division for several years. This is his first experience in film.
