Synopsis

Film Overview

Guigen Qigong presented by Suzanne Friedman, L.Ac., MMQ

Easy to learn self-healing exercises for health and vitality.

The exercises in this video were designed to promote and maintain health, restore energy levels, and calm the mind. Qigong practice combines the use of breathwork, physical movement, and intention. Affirmation, visualization, and imagination are all utilized to enhance qi flow to particular target areas in the body. As the Chinese say, "Where the mind goes, the qi follows."

Guigen Qigong is a medical qigong exercise regimen designed by Dr. Xu Hongtao of Beijing, China. "Guigen" means a return to one's primordial home, or a return to the Tao. The practice is divided into sections according to the creation cycle of the five elements: earth, metal, water, wood, and fire. Each section focuses on the particular energetic channels (meridians) and internal organs associated with that element.
