"NYC Jews" is a documentary film exploring individual Jewish perspective in the boroughs of New York City. Experience a subway ride through the neighborhood enclaves of Borough Park, Crown Heights, and Williamsburg, as we uncover the religious and cultural diversity of the Jewish people.
Jeremy Rishe is an aspiring Jewish Actor we find battling the streets of Manhattan. He struggles with his Jewish identity as he sorts through his relationship with a Gentile and his understanding of his parents’ Jewish past. As he strives to find balance in an interfaith relationship and honor his Jewish roots, his dedication and faith will renew his beliefs and catapult his career.
Among the many enlightening stories of hope, faith, and love are the testaments of a Rabbi fighting to reunite and revive a dying synagogue, a Cantor’s quest to bring music to the world, and a father/son business passing into its third generation. These captivating stories are unified with commentary by the late Lubavitch Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneersohn. Includes a special appearance from NYC Mayor Mike Bloomberg as the High Holidays are celebrated in Brooklyn.
