My film review...
This is a vacation in the best sense: An opportunity to slip into a world of memorable visual beauty complimented by beautiful music -- restful and yet uplifting and inspiring. Southern Arizona Traveler takes you to 24 locations in the southern regions of the state, some of them lesser known, but, varied as they are-- from busy street fairs, the haunted ruins of Fort Bowie, that icon of the Old West that is Tombstone, the scenic wonders of Mt. Lemmon, Seven Falls, Kitt Peak, and Mt. Graham, the richly-colored drama of desert nights-- each is shown to be alluring and worthy of our attention by the skillful cinematography. The photography is at times breathtaking in power and scope. At other times the scale is more intimate: the camera patiently follows a bird, studies a cactus or a flower, moves gracefully in and among the bell sculptures of Cosanti and the aged buildings of Tumacacori and Mission San Xavier. But what truly makes this travel a treasure is the marriage of the wonderful visuals to the varied and equally beautiful music that accompanies each stop along the way.
Every time I watch it I see and hear something new to enjoy. I've found it to be a great gift for my Art & Music-loving friends!
