• Director: Charmain Johnson | bio

  Charmain Johnson was born in Miami but grew up in San Benadino California and Long Island New York, spending about five years in each location. When she was fifteen she moved back to Florida and currently resides West Palm Beach Florida and received. She recived her high school diploma for Alexander W. Dreyfoos School of The Arts, where she studied film and video. In 2004 she completed her first feature length film entitled Seeking Sam, a student film about a young woman, who runs away from home after her secret affair with her brother’s fiancée is revealed. During her college years she also worked as a production coordinator for the school’s television station and a camera operator for WXEL and received her bachelor’s degree in Communications specializing in film and video from Florida Atlantic University in 2005. In 2005 she ALSO completed a short screenplay and was a finalist in BET’s RAP It Up Screenplay competition for her screenplay Victims, later re-titled Secrets, which tells the story of a couple dealing with HIV. Johnson went on to make the short film in the summer of 2005. In 2006 Johnson completed the project Beyond Black and White: Perspectives on Skin Shades in the African Diaspora which explores the issue of different shades of skin tones in the Black community. The film has been screened four times at local venues and continues to be in high demand locally. She also worked as a freelances camera operator for the local Caribbean television show Vibeztv. In 2007 Johnson completed the film Pieces of A love Affair, a short film about a woman who has to choose between her confused lover and her own standards and beliefs. In 2007 Johnson also worked on the film 954, a coming of age story about the friendship of three teenage boys growing up in the crime ridden areas of Ft Lauderdale, Florida. In addition to The Lovers and Friends Show, Johnson is also working on a documentary sponsored by the Palm Beach County Health Department entitled Silence is Death: Unheard voices which explores the relationship between HIV, homosexuality, and the relationship and the church in the African American community. In between 2005 and 2007 Johnson worked as a freelance videographer and when she’s not working on the set of Lovers and Friends she is teaching radio and video to teen mothers at a non-profit organization.

  Kay "KG" Greene Producer & Multimedia Director

  "My art has always been about telling stories," says Kay Greene, The creative design front woman of Insyte Multimedia Productions. Born on November of 1982 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Kay was the middle kid of two siblings. She was the creative kid learning to draw in church at two years old. As a young adult following her dreams of becoming a cartoon artist she won The Martin Luther King Jr Art Contest in 1999. Kay was one of the first students in the Florida's Visual Communications graduate program at AIU earning a degree in Bachelor of Fine Arts and is currently working on pursuing her master's in Visual Communications. Her art work has been featured in many of AIU's student art galleries. In 2003 Insyte Multimedia Productions was born where Kay began making the visual face of the company with her media designs. At the young age of twenty she created and produced Prodigy Magazine and started her career in freelancing & marketing. Kay was featured in the short film project "Seeking Sam" 2004. She was also featured in "Pieces of a Love Affair" 2007 playing the roll of Vikki "a young masculine lesbian who pursued a career as a R&B singer. She was also featured on the movie soundtrack for her music composition titled "I Want To Kiss U" performed by artist Chanel. Her Illustration work was featured in the "Palm Beach Post" for the cover DVD design of Insyte Multimedia Productions Documentary film "Beyond Black & White. Kay is the Multimedia Director and Co-Producer of the "Lovers & Friends Show". The show has created a huge buzz in the GLBT community for being one of the few ethnic lesbian online shows and has been featured in publications & popular websites such as Studs Magazine, Curve Magazine, Afterellen.com, The Palm Beach Post, The Miami Herald & The Online Miami Herald. The shows daily views online has increased rapidly since airing on January 1, 2008. Kay currently in school and works as a freelance multimedia designer launching her very own website kaygreene.com in 2007. She is getting back to her roots with photography & fine arts pursuing a career working with world wide art galleries showcasing her work. " My Goals are to be successful and happy surrounding myself with positive people and building Insyte Multimedia Productions to be one of the best and most successful urban film company in the world" states Kay.

• Assistant Director: Christy Rodriguez | bio

  Christy Rodriguez is elated to rejoin the Insyte family to work on such a thrilling project. Previous film credits include “Elvis Stood Us Up” and “Psychobabble”, which was awarded the 2003 Miami Film Festival’s Best Comedic Short. Christy was last seen in Charmain Johnson’s “Pieces of a Love Affair.” Having received her BA in theatre from the University of Florida, Christy has had the opportunity of honing her craft on stage in such memorable roles as: Eddie/Dr. Scott in “Rocky Horror Picture Show Live”, Marty in “Grease”, Dracula in “Dracula”, Winnie in “Annie Get Your Gun” and many more. Christy Rodriguez was also privileged to study at the London Globe theatre where she focused on voice and movement. Her desire to evolve creatively and share her passion has blessed her with the opportunity to Assistant Direct “Lovers and Friends”, an honor she dared not pass up!
