Neglected by history, these pioneer women of various ethnicities and nationalities played a controversial, yet pivotal role in civilizing one of the most dangerous places in the world - San Francisco's Barbary Coast.
"The Madams of the Barbary Coast" was awarded Best Historical Documentary by the 2005 New York International Independent Film and Video Festival as
well as for Best Art Direction by the 2005 Golden Gate Fiction and Documentary Film Festival.
