Synopsis

Gabrielle Garcia (RONDA BLACKWELL), a highly promiscuous, disturbed young girl, runs away from her abusive mother, Helena Garcia (AURIA SILVA), a famous Latin jazz singer in Atlanta, Georgia by way of Bogotá, Colombia.

Flashing forward 11 years, Gabrielle, nicknamed Gabbi, returns to Atlanta to take care of her terminally ill mother. Upon arrival, she discovers her mother has passed away, yet her past comes back to life. Haunted by her traumatic past, Gabbi is on the edge of pleading insanity. One thing she desires is to give birth to a child who she could love and who could reciprocate the warmth her mother never expressed.

A psychological roller coaster begins as Gabbi's obsession to have a child accelerates to full speed, luring men into her psyche of sexual misconduct and delusions.

By night, she performs at La Bodeguita, a Latin club where most legends got their claim to fame, including Gabbi's mother, Helena. By day, she frequents her favorite trap, Octane Coffee Bar and Lounge, a chic, cozy restaurant, where she meets all types of men and takes them home. Victor Rose (MIKO DEFOOR), one of her love prey, is not the average guy she encounters. In fact, there is something quite different about him that will change their relationship forever.

Meanwhile, the neighbors stir rumors about her strange behavior and perhaps, her boldness to return home after killing her mother.

As a former news writer, producer, and editor of ABC News Bureau Incorporated, UK breaks into the creative world of screenwriting. With an iron fist, she teamed up with business partner, Tyjon Tom, to write her first feature film, My Soulfa. “Writing My Soulfa was like breathing on paper, giving life to imaginary characters,” she commented. Her writing spree, expanding over 11 years, includes shorts, feature films, stage plays, and manuscripts. She wrote and directed the short film, Intercession: A Celebrate Recovery Story, about a young mother’s addiction to crack cocaine and her family‘s struggle to help her become drug-free. Since its debut, Intercession has become a high demand in local and national churches implementing the Celebrate Recovery Intervention Program.

RONDA BLACKWELL, cast as lead actress Gabrielle Garcia, is a professional singer and writer. Her eloquently mixed sounds of Latin, Neo soul, R&B, and Pop added savor to her character. Singing since the tender age of five, she has graced the stage, singing with artists like Fat Joe, Patti LaBelle, Ralph Tresvant, Al B. Sure, Case, and Tevin Campbell.

Tyjon, “the driven force”, has over 15 years of experience in film making. She wears many jackets: producer, director, writer, cinematographer, and photographer. Her goal is to empower the masses, specifically women who are victims of violence. She teamed up with her business partner, UK, as cinematographer on the short film, Intercession: A Celebrate Recovery Story, about a young mother’s addiction to crack cocaine and her family‘s struggle to help her become drug-free. She has worked with world-renowned Tyler Perry, producer/director/writer/actor, as post-production sound assistant on the stage play, I Can Do Bad All By Myself, and top film producer Will Packer of Rainforest Films as associate producer on the film, Trois.

As a powerful director, she introduces her first feature film, My Soulfa, the story of an estranged daughter who hides her painful past by luring men into her psyche of sexual misconduct and delusions. As a professional photographer, Tyjon’s work has been illustrated in local Atlanta media, including Atlanta Tribune, The Daily Report, and JL Magazine, as well as international media.
