Based on the original stage play, The Wrong Hit is a Dark Comedy about a group of paranoid idiot hitmen trying to save themselves from getting killed. The Itch, a bubble headed hitman, kills Green, a 2nd Rate Mobster, without consulting the “elite circle of assassins” and it turns out that the “hit” belonged to Diamond, the most feared and respected hitman in the business. Immediately, Dino, a Mexican wanna-be Italian Mobster, shows up to advice The Itch and hold him there. Soon after, Paul, Dino’s sensitive older brother, shows up as well, claiming that he wants to help. He only manages to get bullied by Dino and made fun of his big mustache.
As the three men point out each other’s identity issues, Priest, a contradicting bi-sexual pushy religious Anti-Christ, unexpectedly shows up with the noble and selfless mission of saving the Itch’s soul by having him accept Jesus as his savior and be born again, even if it means torturing him “by pulling out his spinal cord with a wire hanger.” Not only do the men think that Priest is a freak, but they know that it means trouble when this psychopathic hitman is around.
Just when they think that things are bad, Gloria, the most violent fouled mouth atheist “hitwoman,” storms the premises, shoves Priest’s face to a sofa, picks on Paul’s mustache, and gets in the Itch’s face. Though this ill tempered woman pushes the men around, she provides reason and logic to the situation. But, because of the men’s arrogance and stubbornness they refuse to listen or give thought to her theories. This only ignites her fury, leading her to bully and overwhelm the Priest with her brute roughness and hate for religion.
Making matters worse, Joe The Dirty Rat, a flaming homosexual hitman, waltzes in wanting to know why he was not invited to the meeting. This only raises suspicion of what really is going on. They all gang up against Joe, demanding information about what he knows and as to why they were called their. Immediately, paranoia kicks in and they all scramble and argue over the many reasons as to why they were told to meet at that location.
Finally, they come to realize that they might have been called to meet at the same place for elimination. The twisted and bizarre turn of events only foreshadow the dénouement for the self inflicted burden placed on the hitmen by their own paranoia that only a dark comedy such as this can deliver!
