Performed in February ’09 This musical presentation attempts to reconnect the fragments of history of the Amerindian Island, Iere, to its present incarnation as Trinidad, a land blessed with abundant natural and human resources. A land where passions rage and talents run riot. A people in search of their way in the world.
The story unfolds in the Music of the chief storytellers 3canal in their genre called Rapso a combination of conscious lyrics over compelling rhythms and haunting melodies. The story is further articulated by the insightful words of some of the Caribbean’s leading thinkers, Derek Walcott, Martin Carter, VS Naipaul, Eric Williams.
Recorded at The Queen’s Hall auditorium in Trinidad, JOY+FIRE is the 6th edition of the Annual Carnival Presentation by 3canal called The 3canal Show.
