If you were wondering who Orrin Evans is and what makes him tick....wonder no more!! His newest release on the Imani Records label is a DVD filled with collaborations with many of his talented friends & family. "Orrin Evans Live All Over The Place" finds Orrin in New Jersey at Bennett Studios in a tribute to the ones who have come before us. Poets Todd Evans, Rachel Marianno, & Byron Davis are great additions to selected pieces and bring to mind such collaborations as Charles Mingus with Langston Hughes. Brinnae Ali's tantalizing tap dancing is also an unexpected treat while vocalist Joanna Pascale's haunting rendition of "I Just Stopped By To Say Hello" will surely captivate.
After this eventful trip down Multi-Media lane you'll find Orrin in various formats performing all over the world. The quintet is live in Portugal and Pennsylvania, the quartet is live in Ohio, and the trio featuring keyboards, drums and sax is live in Philadelphia.
