Purgatory Comics tells the story of a young woman named Cola who arrives at a crossroad in her life. Instead of facing the challenges that come with adulthood, she escapes her responsibilities and hides in a dwindling comic book store. She finds new friends in store owner Evan and customer Berner, and uses her marketing savvy from her old job to help the little store stay in business. As part of her plan for an upcoming sale, she sets out to recruit legendary comic book writer and recluse Peter Whales to do an in-store signing. Her plan goes array when Whales cleverly deconstructs her life and shines a light on her fears, leaving Cola to question how long she can hide from the past.
