Synopsis

The DVD documents the choir's participation in the historic Native Nations Procession for the Opening Ceremony of the National Museum of the American Indian, on September 21, 2004.

On that landmark day, Principal Chief Chadwick "Corntassel" Smith, the choir, and other members of the Cherokee Nation joined with Native communities, and non-Native supporters from around the globe, in a Procession on the National Mall beginning at the Smithsonian Castle. The Procession formed a highly symbolic journey eastward to the site of the Opening Ceremony, adjacent to the museum at the foot of the U.S. Capitol building. Thousands of people, many in Native dress and regalia, participated in the event.
