Synopsis

Sam, the world traveler, the romantic, the writer is on his way to Athens, Georgia for the wedding of one of his college friends. From the late 90s through the weeks following 9/11, Sam and his friends from NYU had become a family to one another as they explored the excitement of America’s greatest city, New York.

Billy, Sam’s roommate and Howard’s best childhood friend, has won the heart of Victoria, the smart and sexy knockout who dated Howard in college.

Howard, the work hard, play hard idealist, is still trying to save the world, make a buck, and get the girl. He struggles to forgive Billy for stealing Victoria’s heart.

You can still smell the booze on Fudge. Loveable and endearing, one can still see the spark that drove him to the excitement of the big business of Wall Street, until something happened that shook him to his core. Fudge remains drowning in his past, but holding on to the life-raft of his friends.

And then there is Amy, the classic American girl who broke Sam’s heart when she left him to marry a man far less exciting and adventurous. The shocking blow of being dumped sent Sam into a deflective spiral away from the friends that had become his family.

Will this group continue to move away from each other and their past or will the wedding and the promise it holds be enough to pull them back together?

Jane is an independent film producer and co-founder of Wonder Entertainment and a partner in Leslie Iwerks Productions. In 2010, Jane produced a documentary on George Lucas’ Industrial Light & Magic with Leslie Iwerks Productions and the drama The Diary of Preston Plummer, starring Trevor Morgan and Rumer Willis. In 2009, Jane completed production of the romantic comedy Take Me Home, starring Sam Jaeger and Amber Jaeger. In 2007, Jane produced the drama Not Since You, starring Desmond Harrington and Kathleen Robertson. The world premiere for Not Since You was held at the 2009 Hollywood Film Festival. Not Since You played theatrically at the Athens, Georgia theater Cine in April 2010. Jane also executive produced Tennessee, starring Mariah Carey, which had its World Premiere at the 2008 Tribeca Film Festival and was released theatrically in June 2009. Other titles that Jane has produced include the first adaptation of a Thomas Ligotti short story titled The Frolic, the thriller Fierce Friend, and the drama Straight Line, which premiered at the 2005 South by Southwest Film Festival. Prior to producing, Jane worked with Academy Award-winning screenwriter and producer Akiva Goldsman on numerous studio productions.

Not Since You is a fine drama of the first order. It accomplishes everything it sought out to. Conflicts are revisited, people question their lives and decisions, and changes are made to accommodate peoples’ feelings in the present day. Movies often rely on choreographed fight scenes or on million dollar special effects. What makes Not Since You so special is its dedication to exploring peoples’ heartache, sadness, and regret, emotions that are never easy to cope with. The very talented actors cast by director Jeff Stephenson show audiences what it means to harbor these feelings and how they can incessantly impact one's life. The actors' reactions to their characters' shortfalls and dramatic scenarios are priceless.

I am no Roger Ebert movie reviewer but I give this my personal two thumbs up. You must see this film, ‘Not Since You.’ The cast is great, the story is moving, the cinematography is poignant and of course the setting is perfect!

Not Since You is anything but a remake. It is a film with it a unique look, voice, characters. Audience members might themselves be dealing with similar issues that the film addresses in the wake of tragedies like September 11.
