From a girl-owned rural coffee shop to organic farms and farm markets in the city, teens are leading the way toward sustainable change for their communities, families, and themselves. These youth are part of a larger international movement called Youth Social Entrepreneurship (YSE): a dramatically creative, effective, youth-led approach to adolescent development. Championed by kids, supported by adults, these initiatives give teens real life business development opportunities, jobs (often paid), life-altering experiences and exuberant hope toward building successful futures. Changemakers introduces teens, parents, educators, mentors and funders to five Youth Social Entrepreneurship groups in Minnesota. The unfolding stories of their business developments are told in compelling ways; viewers will be inspired to say, “teens we know and care about can do this, too!”
